Men's Routine: Simple and Effective for Curly, Frizzy, and Coily Hair

Men's routine: simple and effective for curly, frizzy, and coily hair. Textured hair in men—curly, frizzy, or coily—needs a minimum of care to remain supple, defined, and healthy. Good news: an effective routine does not need to be long or complicated.
With targeted gestures and adapted formulas, it is entirely possible to achieve beautiful definition, hydrated and healthy fiber... in just a few minutes. At Ornela Paris (formerly Trois For All), our approach is simple: focus on the essentials, without compromising on performance.

Why do textured hair types require an adapted routine?

A naturally drier fiber

Curly, frizzy, and coily hair has a particularity: its spiral shape slows down the natural distribution of sebum along the lengths. The fiber is therefore drier, more sensitive to frizz, and definition can fade more quickly.

Without an adapted routine, one often observes: lack of shine, fluffy appearance, styling difficulties, and loss of shape throughout the day.

What your hair really needs: softness, hydration, definition

A good hair care routine (for men or women) must meet three simple needs:

  • Clean without irritating the scalp or drying out the lengths
  • Hydrate and nourish the hair fiber
  • Structure the curl naturally, without freezing it
💡 Did you know?

On curly, frizzy, and coily hair, sebum takes longer to reach the lengths. As a result, the fiber dehydrates more easily and frizz appears more quickly. The goal is not to "tame" the hair, but to preserve hydration and limit friction.

The men's hair care routine in 3 essential steps

No need to accumulate products. An effective routine relies on three key actions: wash, care, style.

1) Clean gently (maximum 2 times a week)

Washing should purify without stripping. A shampoo that is too aggressive weakens the fiber and accentuates the natural dryness of textured hair.

Good guidelines:

  • prefer a gentle sulfate-free shampoo
  • space out washes: depending on your lifestyle (sweating, stress, sports, etc...)
  • gently massage the scalp without rubbing the lengths too hard

👉 Our recommendation: Gentle Shampoo, formulated without sulfates to clean effectively while respecting the scalp's balance.

2) Nourish and soften

A well-hydrated and nourished fiber retains its flexibility, shine, forms its natural curls, and resists frizz better.

Prefer a mask that nourishes without weighing down the hair to maintain your volume while having ultra-soft curls.

3) Structure the curl naturally (the gesture that changes everything)

For a natural and quick result, apply the styling cream on well-wet hair to lock moisture at the heart of the hair fiber.

👉 To incorporate into your routine: Immediate Cream Treatment (moisturizing, detangling, and defining).

💡 Did you know?

Frizz is natural. They are simply little hairs in search of hydration. They rise and absorb ambient moisture.

The Immediate Cream Treatment is the perfect ally that locks moisture at the heart of the hair fiber🌿 Flax → Maintains hydration
🌽 Corn → Defines curls
🥦 Broccoli → Coating & anti-frizz
🥭 Mango → Anti-dehydration

After the treatment, add a dollop of Ideal Gel to enhance the hair's natural shape:

  • work with your fingers (or a styling brush if needed), then scrunch
  • avoid cotton towel friction (prefer a microfiber towel)
  • do not touch your hair while drying

Goal: a soft and natural finish that lasts for several days.

👉 For a simple and perfectly measured styling routine, we recommend this Styling Duo (Cream Treatment + Gel), particularly appreciated by men as well.

Quick tips to save time (without sacrificing results)

The key gesture: apply to wet hair

On textured hair, hydration is key. A small amount of cream on still damp hair is often more effective than “a lot of product” on dry hair.

Avoid friction: towel and pillow

To limit frizz, avoid rubbing your hair with a regular towel. Prefer to gently squeeze out excess water, then let it dry without too much manipulation.

And at night, less friction = more definition. If your curls have disappeared by morning, nighttime protection makes all the difference.

👉 To go further: silk bonnet (unisex accessory, also ideal for men).
