Cheveux bouclés en été : comment protéger et sublimer ses boucles
What if we stopped stressing about our curls in the summer?
Sun, salt, chlorine, heat… summer puts your curls to the test. Yet, keeping curly, coily, and kinky hair soft, hydrated, and shiny all summer long comes down to a few simple steps—not ten products.
In short: prioritize hydration, rinse after every swim, protect from the sun, and dry gently. Less effort, more confidence. We’ll show you how, both at the beach and in your daily routine.

Our earrings for summer: keep it simple
Contrary to popular belief, taking care of your curly, coily, and kinky hair in summer is no headache. Yes, the season puts it to the test: UV rays break down the hair fiber and dull the color, while salt from the sea and chlorine from the pool dry out the lengths, and the heat increases dehydration and frizz.
But rest assured: with the right products and a few simple habits, your curls will get through the summer effortlessly. There's no need to layer ten products or spend hours on it.

#1 - Hydrate, again and again
Healthy curls are first and foremost hydrated curls, and that is the easiest thing to do all summer. One simple rule: opt for a treatment that maintains softness and suppleness without a greasy feel. And don't forget to drink water.
Our Immediate Cream Care is your best ally this season: before, during, and after sun exposure, to be used whenever necessary to hydrate and define the curl. Apply it to wet hair: the water locks into the core of the fiber, and the curl takes shape all by itself.
#2 - A different way to wash: co-washing to prevent drying out
Washing your hair with shampoo back-to-back in summer is the best way to dry out your ends. There are gentler options: co-washing (washing with a conditioner, without detergent).
Alternate your usual shampoo with a co-wash: our Intense Mask makes a perfect cleansing treatment, which cleanses while nourishing. Roots that get greasy again? A gentle shampoo targeted at the scalp. Dry ends? A co-wash, to preserve moisture.
#3 - Rinse your curls after every swim
Here is THE simple step we often forget… yet it is the most effective. After the sea or the pool, rinse your lengths with fresh water to remove salt and chlorine before they dry out the hair fiber.
Even better: wet your hair with fresh water before swimming and apply a small amount of conditioner. Already saturated with clean water, the hair fiber absorbs much less salt and chlorine.
#4 - Choose products without photosensitizing ingredients
Not all products get along well with the sun: some active ingredients become photosensitizing under UV rays.
Opt for hair care products without essential oils or UV-sensitive active ingredients (such as retinol and AHAs). Our formulas are designed for daily use, allergen-free and free from controversial ingredients—so you can use them with peace of mind, even in the sunshine.
#5 - Protecting your curls from the sun… with style
The simplest UV screen for your hair? An accessory. Cap, silk scarf, straw hat: the ally that protects your hair from the sun while adding a real stylish touch.
Bonus: a silk scarf also limits friction and preserves the definition of your curls. Zero hassle, all style.
#6 - Dry and refresh without irritation
Direct sunlight or a hair dryer that's too hot: avoid them, as they cause frizz. A gentle touch always wins.
Drying
Air-dry, or use the diffuser on medium heat for shiny curls.
Refresh
To revive curls between washes, use water sparingly and opt for a cream, spray, or serum.
#7 - Protecting Your Curls Overnight
Nighttime counts too, and it's another effortless habit. The cotton of the pillowcase creates friction that breaks down definition and dehydrates.
Sleep with a silk bonnet or a silk pillowcase: less friction, more moisture and softness upon waking. You get up, your curls are (almost) ready.
