Sommaire
Why we created this detangling brush
At Ornela Paris, we have chosen products with a creamy, slippery, and detangling texture. It makes sense: the spiral, corkscrew shape of certain curls makes them terribly prone to tangles. It was therefore only natural to pair our products with an extremely effective detangling brush.
And as a bonus: by distributing the product and wrapping the hair fiber, it promotes the formation and definition of curls right from the detangling stage.
💡 Did you know?
Detangling is the #1 cause of breakage for textured hair. A soft-bristle brush combined with a detangling treatment (also known as a conditioner) significantly reduces breakage and preserves length.
An ultra-effective detangling brush: its benefits
Flexible, break-resistant bristles: they glide through the hair and melt away knots without pulling.
Flexible head: it adapts to the thickness of your hair for gentle detangling.
Ultra-effective, especially in the shower: it works wonders on wet hair saturated with conditioner.
Coats each curl: it distributes the conditioner evenly and promotes definition.
Biodegradable: an eco-designed accessory made from plant-based starch.
Long-lasting: designed to last.
Fast, on wet or dry hair: it adapts to all routines.

How to properly detangle curly, coily, and kinky hair?
Curly or coily hair
Never detangle dry: breakage is guaranteed.
Always dampen and coat your hair with a detangling product (Immediate Cream Care or Intense Mask) to coat and smooth the cuticles, and make it easier for the brush to glide through.
And always detangle from the bottom up : from the ends to the roots, gradually, so as not to pull or break the fragile lengths.
Wavy & curly hair
Your choice on dry or wet hair with a detangling product.
Opt for our detangling brush with flexible bristles, or a wide-tooth comb if your hair is thicker and you detangle in the shower.
On fine hair, a boar bristle brush limits static electricity, for an anti-static effect. Then proceed with your usual washing routine.
💡 Our tip
For curly and coily hair, you can start your routine with the detangling step (on damp lengths, with the Intense Mask), applying the product in sections on each detangled section, then move on to the washing step.
This is very effective at preventing the lengths from tangling in the shower.
Detangling mistakes to avoid
Frequently Asked Questions
During each wash routine, or when it's time for a refresh. Curly, coily, or kinky hair should not be detangled between routines: this would break the curl and remove all definition.
Both work and are even complementary. The detangling brush with flexible bristles is ideal in the shower; the wide-tooth comb is suitable for thicker hair, but provides less-than-perfect detangling.
Remove hair after each use, rinse the bristles with warm water and leave to air dry. Once a month, soak it for 10 min in a basin of soapy water before scrubbing it. Our brush, biodegradable and durable, is designed to last.
On curly hair, yes. On coily or kinky hair, it's best to avoid it: always dampen your hair to protect the hair fiber.
The brush, your routine's ally
After the Immediate Cream Care (with or without rinsing) or the Intense Mask (rinse-out), the detangling brush melts away knots, distributes the treatment, and coats each curl. The winning trio for detangled, supple, and defined hair—without breakage.
